About the Image(s)
I like manual old lenses - they have own spellbinding spirit…
I took this photo last winter by old but perfect Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar 50mm f/3.5.
According to serial number this lens has been made in 1948.
By its little bit softer image I tried to highlight the sadness of the mood of the first snow…

Oleg - you have some very interesting camera equipment and while I don't know much about older gear, I'm very intrigued. It must be neat to experiment with such high quality gear from a previous era. Imagine the stories your lens could tell!! :)
I like your image as well - and love how the arches lead the viewer into your frame. I really like the reflection of the dog walker as well. I wonder if the image could be improved by cropping the top to focus more interest on the subject and his reflection?   Posted: 12/14/2025 16:49:59

Jill, thanks a lot!!!
This isn't the oldest lens in my collection. The oldest is a Tessar, made in Germany in 1937. I afraid to image what these lenses have seen...
But despite its age, this lens takes great photos :)   Posted: 12/17/2025 06:19:33
