March 2025 - NYC Video

About the Image(s)

Obviously one hobby is photography but another of my passions is bicycle riding and another is producing videos. And they actually compliment each other quite well- one can see more biking than walking as you can cover more ground in a given amount of time, and you can see more than riding in a car because you're moving slower and can go to places a car can't go..

The video illustrates this point. The first part of the video takes you from Fort Lee NJ across the George Washington Bridge to Battery Park and the other part is a ride around Branchville NJ documenting some of the ‘Pumpkin Head Halloween Contest’ displays. At the end of the video are some outtakes from the NYC ride. This ride is one that I like to do at least once a year.

I have biked with a camera in many US states as well as several European countries and Australia - New Zealand.

Richard - thanks for sharing the video and I really enjoyed the scenes around NYC - the visit to ground zero is especially moving as I've been there too and it's such an emotional experience.

I loved the scenes from the pumpkin head contest - some people are so creative!

You did a great job pairing music with the photos/video too.

What programs do you like to use for editing? Thanks for sharing your passions with us!   Posted: 03/12/2025 10:51:42

Hi Jill, thanks for your comments. I have used several application to produce videos. The most recent ones are Corel VideoStudio and DaVinci Resolve. The Corel program is fairly easy to learn but I've be has been very frustrated with the unexpected crashes (version 2022). Resolve is a free download (or buy the commercial one). It's a much more robust program and as such a steeper learning curve.   Posted: 03/26/2025 20:58:50

Thank you for sharing the video. I too enjoyed seeing all the scenes. You did an excellent. I saw that the camera seem to be on top of your helmet. Is that correct? the pumpkin head contest was soo interesting to watch.   Posted: 03/21/2025 14:44:22

Thanks Marilyn, the GoPro was mounted to the helmet. I guess you could say I had a camera head.   Posted: 03/26/2025 21:01:03

Loved the scenes around New York and the rides over the bridges, but, the Halloween scenes were the best. For some reason I was unable to hear the music, even though I took it off the mute.   Posted: 03/31/2025 16:03:30
