About the Image(s)

Location: Gibtown, Florida - Bike Fest 2025. I travelled to this small town south of Tampa specifically to see/photograph this sideshow act, 'The Wall of Death'. It's a show that dates back more than a 100 years. The act moves to venues all over the country- the whole stage breaks apart and is transported via tractor trailer.

The Image: Sony A7iii hand held at 10 frames/sec, f/2.8, ISO 1600, 22 mm at 1/1000 sec. Due to the wide aperture, the foreground arm holding the $1 bill was blurred so I layered in the arm from another image that was in focus. Another challenge was the bright daylight outside the tent. I reduced the highlights and masked but I'm not entirely happy with the look.
