About the Image(s)

I captured this image several years ago in northern New Mexico. Shot with a Canon Rebel, using a kit lens. ISO400, 65mm, f/13 at 1/200 second. Processed in Lightroom. Adjusted for whites and blacks, sharpened, added vibrance and texture. Did some cropping, too.

This is a very nice find Mike and one which could present lots of possibilities. Nice addition of the three birds on the roof. Three things that disturbed me at once. First a little tilt to the left, the tight cropping and the foreground branch leading from the very center of the composition. I imagine that with more time and various angels, you could have found more interesting compositions.   Posted: 09/07/2023 07:53:55

Thanks. We were in a hurry so I was rushed in getting this. But your points are well taken.   Posted: 09/11/2023 14:46:32

I love an old barn. It is cropped a bit tight, but you can add canvas in PS. I personally would replace the sky with a bluer color. The branches are a little snug to the edge, but you can easily clone out the ends. I'd also bump up the saturation just a smidge to get the barn to pop.   Posted: 09/28/2023 14:38:23

Good job on the old barn. These are treasures. I would have cropped this a bit off the bottom so the fallen branches become even more leading lines into the barn. Maybe a little saturation on the barn as well to make it stand out more.   Posted: 09/29/2023 13:49:00

I like the branches - to me, it leads into the barn. I would like to see a little more saturation in the barn. I agree with Kaylyn regarding the sky - perhaps bring out the stormy look more?   Posted: 09/30/2023 13:48:53
