As the title implies, this shot was taken several years back while touring through a small Spanish town outside of Sevilla. Two problems here ??“ correcting the poor original exposure, and trying to plumb and level all of the various angles in order to reasonably square up the final. I first went into Camera Raw and played around with all of the controls (exposure, recovery, vibrance, clarity, contrast ??“ the list goes on!) until I had balanced the dark door against the brighter surroundings. After opening up in Photoshop I went into the transforming action and mostly played around with the skewing and distorting tools. Not perfect, but I got fairly close. I mostly liked the various intersecting geometric shapes and the subtle coloring. I finished up with On1 FX8 in order to boost the detail and dynamic contrast

Love the door on the downhill street. Good job on color transformation too. Very sharp and clear. Only three suggestions: eliminate the 9 above the door--distracting; Crop down below the balcony--doesn't need to be there; and crop the blue painted column on the right--takes away from focus on the door. Yes, a good job of processing Jerry and I can accept all the trimmings around the door, they are part of the story and the place. I was not bothered by the number. Doors do have numbers, and without one?...??? Posted: 08/11/2026 17:42:39

I love how you have changed this into more of a graphic, almost abstract, image. It really pops compared to the original. My only suggestion would be to clean up that tiny bit in the upper right corner - just where that grate is/was. I think you have done an amazing job of getting it all squared up. Nice capture! For me, the door and it's immediate surroundings are quite stark so I would like to see the top portion cropped off. If you wanted to keep the electrical box the crop to it and take the turquoise piece out. I didn't really see the number until Al mentioned it and I like leaving it in. I took it out for the rework.
