“The Door” is from a visit to Cuba in 2016. I have always been interested in doors and photograph them wherever I go. I selected this one because it is different then most others and because it is story-telling… Apart from the general processing, I straitened only the left and right sides. I did not want to fix any imperfections, because I feel that they are part of the look of the door.
>>> In Cuba the architecture is very unique. In general the doorways to the houses are at least two feet taller than ours and well decorated, as well as is the outside structure. The sad part is that eventually these unique buildings will deteriorate, because they are not maintained by the owners. The owners maintain and upgrade only the inside of the home. They feel that the outside is the responsibility of the government. And the rest of the story I am sure you know.

Joe -- could you've stood directly in front of the door, thus minimizing the work you faced in PS,as leveling would have been easier. You did a nice job bringing out the right exposure and color. Interesting that you decided to keep the 'hairline' at the top. Given the right neighborhood here in the U S this door could fetch a small fortune -- maybe right here in South Florida.
