About the Image(s)
Going through some old images and came across this squirrel. Outside of some cropping and slight adjustments, it's pretty much as shot.

I like the vertical orientation, and that you left the bottom portion of the composition intact -- this lends itself to a feeling of being up rather high in the branches. There's a good contrast between the harsh angles of the branches and the soft look of the squirrel's body. Nice catch light in the eye. A little bit of mystery -- is he looking out for predators, or just taking a relaxing break? And finally -- how did you get up there, and so close?   Posted: 07/06/2026 13:29:52
I believe he was in a young tree. I don't have Metadata for this one but I used a zoom.   Posted: 07/06/2026 18:58:24
Nice capture of the squirrel. The focus on its head looks a little soft.   Posted: 07/06/2026 13:46:42
Cute little squirrel. I'd try removing those small branches in front of his face. And maybe darken the background a bit because the ground/grass is quite bright and draws my eye away. Nice shot.

Good format, but I think you can improve by following Peggy's suggestion and cropping a bit less from the left and adding to the right. Also consider sharpening the eye for improvement.   Posted: 07/12/2026 18:26:26
A healthy specimen for sure--ready for winter. I like your orientation of the beast too but I would crop the gray down from then top and crop some of the bottom--they don't add to the image. And yes to a little overall color enrichment.   Posted: 07/13/2026 22:32:22
