About the Image(s)

I captured this image a couple of years ago next door to a Sonic I stopped at for lunch. It was a beautiful field of bluebonnets with this single chair standing in the midst of them. I don’t know the chair was there but thought it was an unusual shot. Took with a Canon 7D using a 24-105 lens at 105mm. Shot at f/11 at 1/250 second at ISO400. Basic editing and cropping in Lightroom.

I like what you did with this, and the fact that you spotted this scene in the first place. It strikes me as kind of an abstract impressionist image, the blues interspersed with the bits of green, coupled with the stark look of a man-made object 'growing' out of the sea of plants. My only critique would be that the chair is placed too much to the left. Otherwise, nice and original look.   Posted: 07/04/2026 21:02:56

Ha -- after reviewing your pic, it occurred to me that this might be useful in determining color blindness!   Posted: 07/06/2026 13:19:53

I agree with Jerry about the chair being too left. I also felt it needed some of the green grass. It is a nice capture though. We don't have too many nice flower fields here.   Posted: 07/06/2026 19:05:02

I agree with Marti about keeping in some of the green as it makes a nice contrast. There don't even appear to be any footprints leading up to the chair - so I guess it's been there awhile! Good find!

A most unique scene and one that can probably tell several stories. Yes, absolutely, more room on the left and less on the right.   Posted: 07/12/2026 19:21:56

WOW! Great to be in Hill Country in the spring. Great image. Agree on the comments about left ant right cropping. But keep it 100% bluebonnets--no green. And where there are open spaces I'd use content aware to fill them. Here's my idea.   Posted: 07/13/2026 23:14:58
