About the Image(s)

The Kyle Barn was taken on a barn tour I coordinated several years ago for our camera club. I captured this with a Canon 5D Mark III, with a Canon EOS II 24-70mm on tripod. It was processed in Lightroom with basic edits, then in PS for removal of unwanted items, the sky was enhanced and then an oil filter was applied. I cropped it in LR.

I love this image of the red barn, the composition and how you processed it. Looks very artistic. Can't think of anything to suggest for improvement.   Posted: 04/01/2026 19:51:08

Nice capture and processing. You have good color, which compliment the color of the sky and filter, but I do not understand why you cropped so tight. I feel that even something stationary need room to breathe. Apart from that, does anyone see the two eyes, nose and mouth?   Posted: 04/04/2026 21:43:30

I agree with Joe about the face -- maybe even a hair line with a little cap on top... maybe change the name of the picture to Barney... I like the way you converted the original into a bold and unique statement -- the red certainly grabbed my attention. Is there some noise in the sky, or is this the result of the filter you mentioned? You did well and succeeded in presenting a different look for a well known and ordinary object.   Posted: 04/06/2026 15:27:35

Very nice job on this. I really like the way you cropped this down--usually I would agree that more room should be given, but here I think it adds a little humor to the shot--big barn/tiny space. I also like the texturizing of the sky and barnboard--really stands out. Good job!   Posted: 04/07/2026 19:29:04

Your dramatic treatment of this barn gives it a very graphic look, and I like that. I think it works well with the crop that you have chosen. But I do like the fuller view of your original too, because I like the contrast of the tall vertical barn with the very flat farm land. You could create an entirely different look with that. Nice capture!

I also like the fuller view with the farm land but your version has a lot of whimsy to it. Quite creative and an interesting study. Good job!   Posted: 04/16/2026 23:43:01
