About the Image(s)
This series was photographed at the Wellington equestrian grounds, west of the Palm Beaches in Florida. I had set up my Nikon D500, tripod mounted, so that it was centered on the jump. I then set my burst rate at the maximum of ten frames a second, at about 1/1,200 shutter speed, using a remote trigger. The bright ambient light allowed for a low ISO, probably 100. I fired off a round of about ten horses for each jump ??“ I discovered later that the rate was in fact too fast, so I had to eliminate some of the horses/riders. The first image shows the setting, but I found it was way too cluttered to allow the final jump series to stand out, so I patiently went about eliminating (via the clone tool set on soft) all of the items immediately adjacent to the jump and blurring the line of trees in the back. I selected out each rider (from five separate images) in layers and moved them over to the “blank” stage, one by one. I hadn't done this very much, so I'm sure there is a more proper way to go about this.
