About the Image(s)
This is a friend of mine's thoroughbred mare, Laney High sired by Holy Bull. I used an out-of-border technique that unfortunately I have forgotten. :)

Yes Marti, I too loved this technique, but do not remember how. This is a good idea, however, this image appears to me somewhat unbalanced. Consider the following. It appears to me that it has too much negative space on the left and too heavy on the right. Also the horse's left eye and ear merge right on the edge of the frame. I am sure all this can be fixed by using some of the latest seperation techniques and using a larger frame. Also I would consider giving the horse more life by brightening it and pumping the contrast a bit. What do you think?

A horse is a horse of course of course ... unless it's given a different look by you. Maybe a little too much negative space on the right (gray) side. But, overall, a good effort, with lots of opportunity for playing around with the various parts of the image.   Posted: 04/14/2025 16:02:31
I love the technique but I wish you remembered how to do it. Yes it's a bit unbalanced but the head is very sharp. The rest of the horse seems less sharp than the head. A fun image.   Posted: 04/15/2025 20:57:22
