About the Image(s)
This was taken in the Smoky Mountains several years ago. I don't remember exactly what I did other than some basic exposure changes.

The Smokies are mystical and you've captured that with the cloud layering and color strata. Keeping the foreground dull also helps focus attention on the clouds. My only distraction was with the heavy graininess of the image. Smoothing that out would really help.   Posted: 03/09/2025 15:19:21
Thanks, Al. I'm thinking I did this one in HDR - back when HDR was pretty crude. That might explain the graininess.   Posted: 03/11/2025 11:37:31
I echo Al's sentiments and I love the foreground color tones. My only suggestion is to crop most of the whitge sky at the top.   Posted: 03/10/2025 14:35:37
For me, cutting off the sky would also cut off the tree. I kept it because I liked the way the tree anchored the right side. I'm sure I could do a lot better with the sky in the current LR or PS.   Posted: 03/11/2025 11:40:01
Nice recovery from the original. I think, that as Joe notes, if you crop down from the top and eliminate the bright part at the top, then you could lighten up the rest of the image, in that it seems to me to be a little dark. As well, perhaps a little more saturation is called for. Overall a pleasing composition, with a sense of mystery.   Posted: 03/11/2025 11:26:01
