About the Image(s)

This image was taken along the shore of Mt Carrnel-By-The-Sea, California, around the September 2012 San Francisco PSA Conference.
(No, we did not see Doris Day nor Clint Eastwood, while we were there.) Little processing necessary, mostly in ACR, including vignetting.

Mr. Magoo is the perfect name for this image. You can definitely make out smushed up face. Congratulations on spotting this interesting rock formation. Due to the lack of color in the original, this was the perfect subject to convert to monochrome. Nicely done.   Posted: 02/04/2025 18:39:25

Ironic comment, Peggy, in that Magoo was mainly famous because he was so nearsighted that he could barely see where he was going!   Posted: 02/14/2025 16:03:27

Mr. Magoo?? How long has it been since I heard the name. Great catch on the rock formation. Darkening the corners helped emphasize the face.   Posted: 02/12/2025 16:59:59

Yes, it does look like Mr. Magoo. :) To me, I think the vignette on the lower right corner is a little too strong. I rather like the original better but it's a decent conversion.   Posted: 02/13/2025 03:18:41

Nice detail and sharpness -- the texture of the rock surface was well captured. The angle of the lighting, and the soft box effect, gives a heavy, three dimensional feel. The vignetting adds to the overall look, but maybe a bit overdone in the lower right corner, as Marti points out.   Posted: 02/14/2025 16:00:52
