About the Image(s)

This image is from the Costa Rica Zoo. I was amazed how this Parrot tangled itself around the cage wire.

Other than cropping, sharpening a bit, vignette and a stroke, it needed little processing.

Beautiful colors against the dark background. Perfectly focused. Since it isn't apparent that the parrot is entangled in the cage wire, the result to me is that the dark, blurry wires are distracting and messy.   Posted: 01/14/2025 01:36:40

Vivid colors, good exposure. The eye is especially well done. There's a nice arc formed by the way the bird is situated. As Mike alludes to, the picture of the bird seems more like it's taken from outside of a cage, or even a chain link fence.   Posted: 01/16/2025 16:26:12

Yes, you are both correct, but to describe this further, this bird deliberately wraps his neck in front of the chain link fence and then his beak underneat the link to his left. I saw him do it two times.   Posted: 01/17/2025 20:52:18

I would agree with both Mike and Jerry - I don't see him "tangled". If he does what you say, I would like to see it more prominent so there is no question about what is happening.   Posted: 01/19/2025 17:17:16

I agree with Mike, Jerry, Marti. I don't see him tangled. You could eliminate the fence lines, but then - the purpose of your capture would be gone!   Posted: 01/19/2025 19:02:22

Yes, it is hard to see or imagine. It is one of those things that you had to be there.   Posted: 01/19/2025 19:17:09
