About the Image(s)
On the spring camera club outing, another bird we had a chance to photograph was this Lenner Falcon. He was posed such that we were able to obtain a close-in portrait, for which I used the same equipment (Canon 7D Mark II, 100-400mm lens) that I used for the eagle last month. I improved the color and background of the image in Lightroom. All suggestions are welcome.

Nice portrait. The light was very harsh and from the side. Do they let you use fill flash?   Posted: 09/05/2023 06:59:58
Very precise portrait, colors good, focus incredible. I've never heard of this species of falcon. Where are they native?   Posted: 09/05/2023 16:33:10
Sharp image, well focussed. From the shadow detail the lighting was not in your favour. A good capture all the same. The bird is different from the most common kestrel we get in UK.   Posted: 09/09/2023 06:02:04
Don, you got a great head shot of this falcon. I didn't realize kestrel species were widespread. I'd like to see more pictures of the whole bird   Posted: 09/12/2023 18:28:16
Thanks everyone for your comments. I captured this bird during an outing to a raptor rehabilitation facility in southern Ontario. Checking on Wikipedia, I notice this species is largely native to Africa. I don't know how this individual came to this continent. I do prefer my plain background, the composite background would not do in a nature competition, besides there is a branch of the tree emanating from the falcon's beak.   Posted: 09/18/2023 10:45:23
