Your image of the Emperor Penguins is excellent in its presentation. My imagination is focused on the lead Penguin waving the other Penguins to follow his command.
The ocean waves, sky and mountains are spectacular.   Posted: 10/01/2026 20:22:06

Awesome capture with a great story. It reminds me of the tale of the pied piper! I do feel the colours are a little over saturated but otherwise I really enjoy the image. I like that the environment is also clearly visible in the image and the penguins have plenty of room to roam about within it.   Posted: 10/01/2026 21:31:56

How lucky that you got to see such spectacular penguins. The whole scene is wonderful. I keep agreeing with Toya...perhaps a little too saturated, but what a great experience and how nice of the penguins to perform for you.   Posted: 10/03/2026 04:25:25

Michael, amazing image of the penguin leader, the colony and the strangler. You had to be relatively close, are they unafraid of humans? Agree with others that the water and sky are very slightly over saturated but of course I wasn't there. The penguins colors appear right on. Good story and definitely has visual impact.   Posted: 10/03/2026 14:25:32

They are used to people so usually one can get within a a few feet. If I find the original I will let you know about the saturation. For sure I did not saturate the sky and water separate from the penguins.

I try not to say something is over saturated unless I was there. I do hedge by saying something like Lesley did. I sent a photo once to PSA when they offered a free review. It was called over saturates. I asked her to google Fly Geyser. She did and apologized.   Posted: 10/03/2026 15:02:20

I have to agree with you. We get sunsets on Mallory Square in Key West, where the colors are hard to believe. It is normally 10 minutes or so after sunset when the sky just explodes with color.   Posted: 10/03/2026 18:07:15
