About the Image(s)
This photo was taken in Costa Rica where hummingbirds are numerous.
I used a Canon 5D Mark1/V with a Sigma 150-600mm lens. The settings were 1/200th. F13. 279mm. Three flashes were used.
The hummingbirds were attracted by putting sugar water inside the flower.

They are so defensive of their territory. You've done a good job of showing this behavior. Nice colors.   Posted: 12/10/2025 03:44:12
Michael,
Costa Rica is rich in flora and bird species. You photographed a great story of a conversation between these two Monteverde Hummingbirds. I was fortunate to visit a Hummingbird sanctuary in Jamaica earlier in the year. Yes, simple sugar water is what they crave. Great technique   Posted: 12/10/2025 21:45:45
