Michael, Very sharp image with great detail in the feathers. The face and eyes are perfectly poised staring right at the camera. The color of the feathers are a beautiful blue-grey color. Very nice image.   Posted: 11/09/2025 15:40:48
Now that's a bird! They are huge, but unless you see one in a zoo it's hard to get a feel of the size. Like the red eyes and the stare. Think about the small animal caught in those huge talons. Yikes.   Posted: 11/09/2025 18:45:51
Never seen this bird at rest before. It is perfectly balance in the frame with the greenery growing on the wall behind! Imagine it in flight with those huge wings! A super capture.   Posted: 11/12/2025 14:42:53
Michael,
You have captured an excellent specimen of an Andean Condor. This raptor has a 10 ft. wing span and weighs about 30 lbs. which makes it the largest bird of prey. Several South American countries claim it as their national bird.
Unfortunately, this bird is vulnerable due to lead poisoning from hunters bullets found in carcasses and loss of habitat.
The framing of the grass behind the Condor accentuates the sharp contrast between the shadows and highlights in the feathers.   Posted: 11/17/2025 13:20:29
