This image was taken at Huntley Meadows in Virginia. This Heron dived in the water and captured this large fish. He flew to dry land in order to submit his prey.

Ted, your image certainly displays the peak of action with the fish proudly in the Great Blue Herons mouth. I think the heron is slightly over sharpened but what bothers me most is that the feet a cut off. Good catch. Posted: 07/04/2025 20:42:00

The action is great, but I feel that the detail on the bird itself has been slightly over-sharpened. I also find your inclusion bottom right is distracting! The separation from the background is well handled. Posted: 07/17/2025 10:12:45
