Found this lovely seamstress in Estonia in a very dark building. Afterward, you wondered why you hadn't considered the ironing board. Always learning composition.
She was a fun lady with brilliant hair matching the material. Several distractions were minimized or cropped out.
Editing occurred in Luminar Neo. Photographed with a Panasonic Lumix DC-GH7 using a Leica DG Vario 12-60 lens (SS 1/60, F 3.6, ISO 800, 15mm).

This image certainly conveys the joy of the seamstress. The color of the material on the table matching the color of her hair is a good compositional touch! Good eye! One thing to consider is shooting at a higher f stop & focussing more on her face...That way you get her face sharper and the ironing board & table in sharper focus as well.

Oh, Norm. This camera and I have been in long conversations about focusing. I'm so over it. No matter what mode I use, focusing is always an issue. Seriously contemplating getting a different camera. Posted: 08/16/2026 11:27:49
Hello Becca, Sorry to hear you are frustrated with the LUMIX. But just a suggestion, before you buy another camera you may want to contact Panasonic tech support to see what they have to say or if you bought the camera from a bricks & mortar store take it to them for help. And if you haven't already done this you may want to search online for focusing tips for this camera-often YouTube videos can be helpful.

Been there, done that. I do love the live composition feature though. Camera store didn't do any better. Plus, an acquaintance who is an intelligent gentleman developing technology for interspace rover photography has the same camera. He, too, is less than happy so I'm not alone. I've given it three years. I'm missing shots. It's response time is so slow I miss the shot even if it would get it's act together to focus. Posted: 08/24/2026 15:11:21
A nice portrait of the seamstress in her environment. The colours all work well and your crop is good. I have to agree with Norm about the aperture that you used. A smaller one would of given you more sharpness, maybe at a higher ISO if possible. Posted: 08/15/2026 13:30:31
The final photo is stronger because the tighter crop brings more attention to the seamstress and her happy expression. The bright orange hair and colorful fabrics make the picture feel warm and full of life. The background is a little busy, but it also helps show the space she is working in.
