This image was made in the Adirondack Mountains of New York State on a summer morning. I had my tripod set up with my Nikon Z6 full spectrum camera and was concentrating on pure landscape photos in 720 InfraRed when this canoeist came into view. I had to act quickly and without changing my lens or settings I took the following shot.The canoeist was out further on the lake in what seemed a matter of seconds!
The image was processed in Adobe Camera Raw and Nik Silver Efex.

I like the composition and the choice of monochrome. Infra red is maybe a touch extreme for this situation as the canoe gets a little bit lost. I really like the reflections. Posted: 12/16/2025 12:19:52
I believe the infrared produces a dreamlike effect, heightening the feeling of calm and mystery. I really like it. Posted: 12/17/2025 20:49:49
