About the Image(s)
This is a nest I found abandoned last year. Elements of structure are sheep fleece, horse hair, twigs, etc. foraged from the landscape. Even after a year and use as an incubator , you can see the nest’s sturdiness and the lanolin of the sheep fleece and the gloss of the horse hair. I cropped the image and increased the structure a bit.

These structures always intrigue me, the different methods of construction and the locations they can be found in.This is a well photographed record of a well constructed nest. Do you know which species of bird built it. It gives the impression of being quite small.   Posted: 04/18/2025 12:12:33
