Happy New Year to all - I picked this early pussy willow and put in this vase in a north window - to even play off the light further, I shot this with a soft focus lens. To me it the sturdy branch symbolizes soft resiliency - a most desirable trait in my opinion.

I really like the soft lighting on the vase and pussy willow as well as the slight 45 degree shadow...all of this adds interest to the photo for me. However, I myself am not a fan of soft focus lenses and I would have preferred to see the vase sharper while having the pussy willow softer... But this is a matter of my personal taste and is no reflection on your image. It looks like looks like you achieved the effect you wanted.
