Gateway Arch
I visited St Louis in 2017. Among the many great venues to photograph, the famous Gateway Arch is an icon for St Louis. I processed this photo first in Nik Silver Efex. Back in Lightroom, I reduced the background brightness and added detail structure and exposure to the arch.

Good vantage point, I like the texture in the arch panels. For me, the sky is too dark, especially since there is a large area at the top that's just black on my screen. Is there some detail in that area in the original? If so, perhaps selectively brighten/edit it to bring it out. Posted: 04/16/2026 00:31:22

It makes my eye interact by going up and then down. The monochrome version is uncommon and makes it standout more. The sky could be lightened up some. Posted: 04/18/2026 12:07:17
