About the Image(s)

I was ready with another photo, but yesterday december 3rd, I went to visit Butchard Gardens in Victoria, BC. It is a fabulous Christmas light display. Wishing you and everybody great holydays.
My settings for this image in my Sony RX 10 IV were ISO 100, 9-220@8.8 mm f 6.3, at 1.60s. I didn't bring a tripod but I use a surface there, and a cable to release the shot. Edited in Photoshop, Camera Raw - Denoise and basic editing. Any comments more than welcome.

What are the chickens doing? Are they being served by a waiter? Chicken liver crostini's perhaps????? My eye keeps moving between the chickens, the bright branches top right, and the bright lights on the left. The composition seems heavily weighted to the right. I'd consider cropping about a quarter of the way in from the left, and then decreasing brightness of the branches above the Eiffel tower to keep attention on the chickens with the tower in the background.   Posted: 12/07/2025 18:09:04

Thanks Sheldon, for pointing me out, this is a new and improved version with your suggestions of the Chickens having late lunch with croissants, there is cheese I think, coffee and the waitress bringing some chocolate with whipping cream on top. I think is a lovely Holliday Season Scene.   Posted: 12/12/2025 04:56:09

I think the image is improved with the cropping Sheldon suggested. The chickens are well lit and the Eiffel Tower draws the eye up to the lit tree. Since it's hard to tell what is going on with the chickens, I might crop even tighter. I'm conflicted with the lights to the left - it's interesting, but a little distracting; maybe tone it down a bit. I guess it depends on where you want the focus to be.   Posted: 12/13/2025 15:21:44

I like the humour. A play on the Christmas song 'On the first day of Christmas', The three French Hens. Not sure we need all the background to the left although the lights do break it up. Butchart Gardens is one place that remember visiting when touring British Colombia a few years ago.   Posted: 12/16/2025 13:40:44
