November 2025 - Sunny on the Peak

About the Image(s)

On my way to Zion National Park I pulled the car over and took this photo of a mountain on a partly cloudy day. ISO 100, F 7.1, 1/400s

It is sunny on the peak! The clouds and blue sky add to the appeal of this photo. While there are shadows on the hillside, there is still enough detail and the exposure looks good. The only thing I might do is bring up the saturation on the hillside, particularly the tallest hills in the background. It might be more compelling if the tall mountains popped a bit more as this is the central focus of the image.   Posted: 11/12/2025 20:52:23

A nice composition with a pretty sky. The mountains need some help with detail, contrast and vibrance. The shadows could be opened up in either Lightroom or Camera Raw.   Posted: 11/13/2025 15:27:11

I made adjustments. Is this better?   Posted: 11/15/2025 22:39:42

Interesting landscape. For me - I could find no focal point, a place where my eye wants to settle. I'd consider cropping a little from the right and the top to make the mountain more prominent, and then increasing contrast with clarity or dehaze. A slight vignette would also keep viewers attention in the middle of the image.   Posted: 11/15/2025 23:08:33

A mountain that wants to be photographed on a day with a perfect sky. I do however prefer your adjusted image.   Posted: 11/19/2025 12:14:29
