About the Image(s)
Description: this is a picture I took of a freeway in Puebla, Mexico. I was practicing with the low shutter speed to get a blurred night image. I think the photo is not the best I could have taken but I would like to know your thoughts on how I can improve. Anyway, this night photos of a city after a rainy day are always romantic to me.
Technical details:
Camera: Canon EOS 2000D
f point: f/11
Exposure time: ¼ s
ISO:3200
Focal distance: 35 mm.

Interesting. I am trying to use a slow shutter speed setting more often but you seem to have got it here. The cars on the left look almost like they are not moving but the cars at the bottom have a blur due to the shutter speed. The only thing I rec ommend is sharpening the phot more.   Posted: 07/11/2025 00:42:07
I have always been fascinated by night time pictures of moving lights. I like this one, it gives the impression to me of cars on a slot car track with the freeway almost forming an oval. I also like the inclusion of the distant buildings they give us a location, and add a bit of realism.   Posted: 07/12/2025 09:14:20
Night shots after a rain are always appealing; in fact, any street scene after rain looks awesome because you get the lights reflecting off the surface of the road. If you hand held this a 1/4 second, well done. If you have a tripod or any steady surface, you might want to try experimenting with longer shutter speeds - 30 second or more, which could result in a more abstract photo. The small aperture gave interesting star-light effects on the lights.   Posted: 07/15/2025 00:56:55
Agree with Suzanne, while using the tripod, you can set your camera with a longer shutter speed, and the striking lines of the cars will be longer, and also you can use lower ISO, and if you want you can have smaller aperture. f/16 or f/22.
I think you have chosen a great space for this type of night photography, beautiful area with buildings, trees on the center, and others.   Posted: 07/15/2025 06:15:32

I like the choice of subject and overall composition. The picture would benefit from use of a tripod or other stabilizing device, not just because exposures could have been longer, but because to me the parts of the image that aren't moving appear blurred, probably from camera shake. Toning down the bright lights would also help keep focus on the foreground.   Posted: 07/28/2025 02:42:28
