About the Image(s)
The Conway Scenic Railroad starts in North Conway NH and returns from Crawford Notch, NH. The Crawford Notch State park is very scenic and there are plenty of hiking trails in the area. It is also very near Mount Washington. ISO 200, f/9 1/320 s

A good documentary photo of the rail station. It would have been nice if a train was arriving or departing.   Posted: 01/11/2025 21:42:41

I like the contrast between the yellow of the building and the green on the hill. It looks good even though they are not complemetary colors. I also think that the image transmits a lot of peace. Probably trying to reduce the brightness on the roadīs surface by reducing the exposition with Lightroom would help to improve the impact of the image.   Posted: 01/12/2025 23:32:08

A very appealing station in a stunning location. I have to agree with Glen that it would have been nice to have a locomotive heading towards us along the tracks, but they never come when you need them.   Posted: 01/17/2025 09:36:40

As others have noted, great contrast with the sky and clouds. Sometimes you can't get the train to arrive when you want to! The cars in the parking lot are slightly distracting. My eye is searching for the main point of interest - I tend to wander down the tracks then jump to the building, then back to the tracks. Maybe this is just my problem :).   Posted: 01/17/2025 11:39:11

I agree that a train arriving would have made a big difference. I liked the clouds in the sky on this photo since they came out clearly. Thank you all for the advice.   Posted: 01/18/2025 21:15:32

The track provides nice leading lines leading you into the scene. Visual weight seems heavy on the left - perhaps crop from the right to bring it back in balance.   Posted: 01/21/2025 04:49:20
