I need a fishing rod! by Joe Norcott

December 2024 - I need a fishing rod!

About the Image(s)

This was taken in the port in Camden, Maine. Couldn't believe all the fish swimming around.

Simple but effective and tells a story. I noticed a few fish swimming against the stream. Great job keeping the glare from the water interfering with the view.   Posted: 12/11/2024 22:35:24

I like how the fish repeat and with few exceptions line up the same direction. I think the contrast could be increased. It would make a great jigsaw puzzle.   Posted: 12/12/2024 03:07:21

Here is the same photo with some more contrast.   Posted: 12/14/2024 15:09:28

I really liked this picture! The concept is very interesting and I also agree with Sheldon that a little bit of contrast would enhance the scene.   Posted: 12/12/2024 18:38:34

Please see the update I added with more contrast. Let me know if that works better.   Posted: 12/14/2024 15:10:23

I liked as it is, I think more contrasty will make a little bit too crowded. Great image, did you use any filters?   Posted: 12/13/2024 10:35:11

I happened to have on a Hoya Circular Polarizer Filter since I was outdoors taking many photos on a sunny day. The photo is cropped which takes out some of the top of it. However the filter didn't really cause any problems with the photo.   Posted: 12/14/2024 14:59:24

I will try to remember to use these filter while taking photos in the water and on sunny days. Thanks Joe.   Posted: 12/15/2024 08:50:53

Good observation. I like the way that a few of the fish are swimming in the opposite direction it adds something to the scene. I have to agree about it being a good subject for a jigsaw puzzle.   Posted: 12/15/2024 11:10:25
