Christmas Tree by Carlos Roman

December 2024 - Christmas Tree

About the Image(s)

I took this picture in the interior of a huge Christmas tree that is installed every December at the main Mormon Temple in Mexico City. This place is worth visiting during this time of the year.
Technical details: Canon camera EOS 1500D 18mm f/11 ISO 2000. Exposition time: 1/125 s. No flash, no tripod, no filters. Edited with Lightroom by setting b/w, increasing the exposure, saturation and intensity of color.

At first I thought this was a composite, surprised to find out that it actually exists. I like how the different round objects (ornaments?) decrease in size as you move up the tree(?), it gives a strong sense of depth. Good job in post processing.   Posted: 12/12/2024 03:04:51

It does exist, I guess probably the main Mormon temples in the US or Europe may have the same sort of decoration.   Posted: 12/12/2024 18:27:33

The colors are great! I agree with Sheldon that the higher it is the smaller the ornaments which gives you that sense of height. Really cool!   Posted: 12/14/2024 14:47:41

An interesting angle of the lights. I like the composition and the exposure is spot on.   Posted: 12/15/2024 11:05:09
