About the Image(s)
This image was taken during my Ecuador Photo Workshop in 2020 at our venue high up in the Andes Mountains. Our setup used local flowers to attract the birds and flash units strategically located to capture the action. My camera was mounted on a tripod and equipped with a shutter-activated flash transmitter. This beautiful long-tailed sylph hummingbird was one of my favorite subjects.
Technical: 1/250 sec, f/11, ISO 200, 300mm, Flash.

Amazing photo, you were very successful in capturing all the details and the colors in the birdīs body. The color contrast rendered by the red leaves is also ver appealing.   Posted: 11/10/2024 01:12:35

Hi Glenn, You definitely had the right settings for the photo. I really like that it's not a photo of a sitting or attached to the flower hummingbird. Mid-flight is great!   Posted: 11/16/2024 00:30:56

Well caught. The bird is exquisite and coupled with the flower makes a pleasing picture. The bird is so sharp. Well done   Posted: 11/18/2024 15:30:46

Great capture, you can see all the details of this beautiful hummingbird, love that you have capture with the right speed to still see the movement of the bird.   Posted: 11/21/2024 01:16:03

Great Capture - beautiful bird. Only comment - some of the yellow flower parts appear blown out.   Posted: 11/21/2024 03:34:25
