About the Image(s)
Butterfly in the Yard, and yes, this was shot in my backyard. I love it when I don't have to travel far :).
The photo was shot with a Nikon Z8, 600mm lens, 1/640s, f/6.3, ISO 500. Post processing consisted of cropping, enhancing colors, and lightening one of the butterfly's antennae, which appeared completely black in original.

Excellent picture! The colors are very vivid, the background is adequately blurred and the general composition and framing are very good. All the details in the butterfly body can be completely seen.   Posted: 11/03/2024 23:44:52

Hi Suzanne, Really sharp and colorful. I agree with Carlos that the blur in the background is good. Well done!   Posted: 11/16/2024 00:15:52

Very nicely done. Not much to add. Perhaps decrease brightness of the yellow flowers a bit to make the butterfly more prominent, and maybe a bit of a crop at the top to decrease the size of the featureless (almost) bright area.   Posted: 11/17/2024 17:51:34

Beautifully captured and composed. The colors are brilliant. Suggest you knock down the brightness of the green leaf in the background and perhaps brighten the butterfly a bit.   Posted: 11/18/2024 02:19:34

What a beautiful butterfly to get visiting your yard. Well composed and I really like the light on the butterfly, its colours complement the flower it is on. Well done.   Posted: 11/18/2024 15:24:16

Great capture of the butterfly, beautiful image. The light was hitting so nice on the subject. I also think cropping a little bit on the top and dark in the highlighted area will eliminate these distraction.   Posted: 11/21/2024 00:41:08
