This image was taken in San Salvador de Allende (SMA). It is not a cathedral, but the parish church for SMA. Sony A7R5, 1/40, f/4, 35mm, iso 400. Edited in Lightroom Classic, converted to mono in Lightroom.

Sheldon: This image is exposed well, especially for what appears to be a night shot. And it is sharp with good contrast. Was there sny separation between the stastue and the structure behind it because I think there are really two interesting images there? Posted: 08/08/2026 20:44:26
Hi Sheldon: A very interesting night shot of two subjects. I cannot tell if they are attached or if there is some space between the two.
Exposed very well with a lot of sharp detail and a really good monochrome conversion. In the original I like the warm rich colors.

Hey Sheldon. Wonderful perspective and lighting of nicely textured subject matter. Could you have separated the two elements a bit more? I can see how the forefront sculpture is a little brighter than the spire element. Maybe darken that a little bit more to give further separation in tones and some mystery? Thanks for you comments. My objective was to have the statue as the focal point with the church there for context. Perhaps the separation could be emphasized by decreasing brightness of the church, I'll go back through the Library and look for other options. Posted: 08/15/2026 19:19:27
Wonderful perspective, Sheldon. I like the way, the light is crawling up the stone and give a three-dimensional representation. You surely could not get rid of the tree on the left; this is the only point I can mention! Posted: 08/17/2026 20:38:10
