About the Image(s)
Description: This was taken at a hot air balloon festival in upstate NY. I saw this sweet little girl playing with her bubble machine and I couldn't resist taking a snap. I took this at ISO 200, 1/800 sec, 177mm range and at f/2.8. I was thrilled to see the bokeh went well with the bubbles making it look like there are so many of them surrounding the little girl.

Hi Nenette,
What captures my attention as soon as I see this image is the youngster's eyes: and that's what a portrait should do. You captured a great expression on her. The conversion to mono works well. I think this image is very well done.   Posted: 11/05/2025 15:38:48

Hi Nenette: Both the original color and monochrome conversions are excellent human interest pictures in all ways.
ORIGINAL COLOR: The little girls face radiates happiness, then the pink dress was the perfect color for this scene.
Composition is perfect with the girl on the left side of the frame looking into the scene of bubbles. Then the soft lighting of the day along with the light muted green background and then the iridescence of the bubbles; everything works together here.
MONOCHROME: Really good monochrome conversion. Excellent tonality for this subject, lower contrast worked very well for this situation.
Both images are winners in my humble opinion.   Posted: 11/05/2025 20:39:53
