About the Image(s)

Saw these two boys having a blast playing and splashing water during one summer day. Taken with 1/1250 sec, f/8 and ISO800 and processed in Photoshop.

Hi Nenette: Great Capture!! You were in the right place at the right time to photograph this action scene with the two boys. Opportunities like this simply do not happen every day, and you certainly made the most of this happening.

Excellent post processing work with the monochrome conversion. Being in construction work I always notice if the photographer had their camera perfectly level, or if they leveled up the image in post processing. The concrete block lines are perfectly level from side to side, you can really see this at the top of the frame. This is one aspect many photographers over look and get the building lines leaning one way or the other, however you got it just right.
KUDOS on excellent work!   Posted: 07/08/2025 05:11:57

Nenette,
I agree with Murphy's comments. This is wonderful. My only (possible) suggestion would be to consider cropping downward a bit to preserve more of the reflection.   Posted: 07/24/2025 17:12:59

Top photo, Nenette, congrats! The falling water - not sure if it is rain - must be a pleasure for the kids. I would say, that the crop is perfect. The main subject is the kids. When the mirror image is completely visible, the subject is pushed to the top edge and loses weight.   Posted: 07/25/2025 00:15:28

The symmetry of the two boys body posture makes the image! my only suggestion would be to decrease the brightness of the reflection of the boys in the water. It takes my eye away from the boys, and is a little disturbing since their heads are cut off.   Posted: 07/28/2025 03:03:51
