About the Image(s)
My wife and I recently participated in a photo workshop in Monument Valley and Canyon de Chelley. With the help of our Navaho driver and guide, we were able to make the trek to visit these remarkable landmarks. It was a testimony to how deceptive size can be in this location when I found out that Totem Pole is nearly 400 feet above the surrounding terrain. I would have guessed less than 100.
Anyway, we got there in the wee hours and photographed it as the sun came up. I got some remarkable color images, but was pleased at how well this monochrome interpretation came out.
