About the Image(s)

I was in Virginia City, Nevada last fall. Virginia City is best known for its preserved buildings from the Old West, but it also has a spectacular view of the mountains to the east. The viewpoint where I took this particular image had very few signs of humanity. I liked the color version, but thought the monochrome treatment better highlighted the shapes and textures of the terrain.
Sony A7R V, Sony 24-105 f/4 lens, ISO 400, 77mm, f/8, 1/250 second. Shot handheld. Processing was done in both Lightroom Classic and Photoshop, using Silver Efex as a plugin.
