About the Image(s)

This time I used the dark time of autumn at the "desk“. I wanted to create something for minimalism. This take was not good enough for the theme. I decided to convert the too bright red ball into monochrome. Taken with Canon R5, tripod, aperture 8.0, shutter speed 1/1,25 sec and ISO 100. Edited with Camera Raw and Photoshop, Topaz DeNoise.

Peter - I really like the simplicity of this image and turning it into a monochrome was an excellent choice. I would suggest a tighter crop and brightening the image overall. I did a quick edit to illustrate what I'm thinking. I'd be interested in your thoughts.   Posted: 01/17/2025 16:50:42

Henry, you are right! The brightness is better. Cropping the photo will bring the ball near the left edge. Indeed I wanted to avoid this. But it is another option; I agree.

This was a first experience. I want to make the ball smaller I can probably draw the line from angle to angle and place the ball into golden ratio. Will have more sessions with that ...   Posted: 01/17/2025 17:04:28

It's a fun concept and well worth exploring.   Posted: 01/17/2025 17:30:00
