About the Image(s)

I made a picture of a retirement home in Hamburg, Germany. While leaving the parking place I had a spontaneous idea to photograph the house. Could I then change the perspective and turn it into monochrome? It was very difficult, almost impossible, to make the photograph from the only possible angle.

Taken with Canon R5, Sigma 14-24mm by 21mm, Ap. 8, shutter speed 1/100, ISO 100.

Peter your image is wonderful. I can't hardly believe that you were able to straighten all those curves in the original. My only suggestion is to darken the bright vertical areas to emphasize the walls in the background. In my revision I also cropped some off the left and right sides.   Posted: 11/12/2024 15:29:01

Wow. Well seen and very effectively processed, Peter. I found the elements around the edges to be somewhat distracting from the main event, so I cropped tighter than Jim and upped the contrast a bit.   Posted: 11/15/2024 17:58:44

Peter, You did an amazing job in transforming the perspective! The windows on the right pull my eye away from the main element. It's an intriguing image as I can't tell if I'm seeing through windows or looking at reflections!   Posted: 11/16/2024 17:41:07

Darlene, that was the reason, why I left the windows on right and left side. But I must admit, that Henrys version has more charme!   Posted: 11/17/2024 00:41:01
