About the Image(s)
The latest assignment for my PSA photography course was for a ⬓still life⬠and this is one I submitted. The arrangement is in my home ⬔ I’m a big fan of green glass (have no idea why!) ⬔ and these 3 orbs are among my favorites. ISO 800, 31mm, f/4.0, 1/60 sec
FYI ⬔ for those of you using Lightroom Classic, I bought a book my mentor recommended and am finding it extremely useful: ⬓How Do I Do That In Lightroom?⬠By Scott Kelby. I bought it on Amazon and keep it handy when I’m attempting some modifications.

Great project. Each item likely has a great story, but my favorite is the jug in the background. That one looks to me like the most interesting story to tell of all. While the handle on the jug is a bit soft, the detail captured elsewhere and in the orbs is very good. The placement of all four items looks very good. Color throughout the four items, the table and wall, is complementary and pleasing to look at. Did you used a tripod? Removal of the string from the handle on the jug would be less distracting and I wonder if a polarizing filter would have prevented/reduced the glare on all four items. This is a pleasing picture to look at Dough, Great job!   Posted: 07/09/2024 19:06:05
Thanks Jim - I did struggle with the glare and didn't consider a filter. The string actually holds a medallion of authenticity so I can't remove it but could have deleted it from the photo. Good call!   Posted: 07/15/2024 23:02:47
The three green orbs - each one exceptional in its own way. The viewer should take time to explore the beauty of each one. The longer I look at your image, the more the fairy tale of the Frog King comes to mind which is my favorite one. I wouldn't have thought that at first, I only saw orbs on the table.
Actually I would have given the glass balls even more space, without overlapping. When I take still life photos, I like to use a mirror for the ground or background. This doubles the beauty of the items.
Thanks for the imaginative image.

A mirror would be a great enhancement! Thank you!!   Posted: 07/15/2024 23:01:31
Doug, I very much like the placement of the objects and the quality of each item. The green color is sooooo soothing. Wondering if darkening the wall would enhance the objects and get rid of the shadow. I agree in eliminating the string on the jog in photoshop. Great still life.
Scott Kelby's online learning was highly recommended. He has a wealth of good information if you can absorb it all.   Posted: 07/19/2024 19:13:04

I also love the placement of the objects. I would love to hear more about the PSA course you are taking....   Posted: 07/19/2024 20:35:06
