Beautiful perspective! Black and white was absolutely the way to go - very nice photo!   Posted: 07/07/2024 21:43:11

Different geographic shapes and different contrasting shades of B&W, from white to black, are done very well. I enjoy this much more than the coloured image. The diagonal line from lower left to top center of the photo grounds the image nicely. Suggest removing the ceiling blemishes located in upper right corner of the photo. This image would look great framed. Great job Yvonne.   Posted: 07/09/2024 18:14:11

Yvonne, staircases are always good motifs. Light and dark alternate, shapes support the effect of depth. You have succeeded in capturing shapes, surfaces and structures very well. The view is either over the diagonal, as Jim mentioned, or over the beginning of the spiral at the top left. Good choice of perspective.
I like your transformation in B&W, but honestly, I also like the color version. To bring more power into the great picture I increased the hue and saturation. Yvonne, I hope it's ok for you. Your picture just inspired me to do it.

Great eye for what reminds me of a Fibonacci sequence! After looking/reading at the comments above I have to say that my initial "vote" for the B&W image lost out to Sabine's rendering in color.

I'm attending a webinar on Lightroom (check out Tim Grey if you're interested) and today we covered tone and color. The color highlights really enhance the photo.   Posted: 07/15/2024 22:44:22

Doug, After Googling I believe it is a Fibonacci spiral. Thank you for your comments.   Posted: 07/19/2024 20:28:05
