About the Image(s)
During a visit to a local beach I practiced ICM (intentional camera movement). I chose the boats in the harbor as my subject. The image was processed in Photoshop. It was cropped and the vibrance was increased to give it a little punch.

Barbara,
This is a great example of ICM. I took the liberty of playing with your image a bit.
1. I'm a believer in "edge patrol" so I took out the two boats disappearing over the edge of the photo on the left. Just a personal preference.
2. I masked the sky ... moved the color balance back toward blue ... applied a bit of "dehaze" and sharpened it a touch.
3. I applied a little bit of vignette to draw the viewer's eye toward the center of the image.   Posted: 10/04/2026 17:01:41

Thank you, Bruce. I agree edge patrol is very important. In this instance, I intentionally left the boats entering from the left to show the traveling direction of the boats. Maybe it was not necessary to leave them in the frame. It is interesting to see different edits of the image. I like your edit except the sky is too saturated for me.   Posted: 10/04/2026 17:36:24
The sky is oversaturated in my version. It distracts from the boats below. My bad.....   Posted: 10/05/2026 16:14:23
Hi Barbara,
Very cool image! I think the increased vibrance makes the photo!   Posted: 10/04/2026 22:58:46

Barbara, ICM gives Boats in the Harbor a lot of movement. They look like they're racing. I like the saturation you applied and cropping out the shore. Great image.
I've got to follow your and Sabine's lead and experiment with ICM.   Posted: 10/09/2026 20:27:51
