About the Image(s)
Due to health issues, I didn't get out much this month. My husband took me to get a shot of 'Transportation' for my local photo club. I took the opportunity to get a few street shots.
Taken with Nikon Z7ii

Sylvia, you certainly nailed this one. Tack sharp throughout the image, great color, lots of subject matter that is all brought together with the two strangers sitting in the bus stop that adds greater interest to the story. Great job! I hope your recovering well.   Posted: 03/07/2025 22:51:24

Interesting that your theme is "transportation" as you actually capture 4 types: bus, car, bike, foot. Nice job!   Posted: 03/09/2025 14:51:09
Hi Sylvia, I really applaud your dedication in submitting your image despite your health challenges. I hope you feel better soon. Your street photography in "Waiting for the Bus" vividly captures the contrasting moods of two individuals. The man on the right, sitting tall beside his bicycle with grocery bags, appears eager and anxious to catch the bus, while the person on the left, absorbed in his cell phone, exudes a more relaxed, carefree vibe. I might brighten up their faces to further emphasize their expressions, and consider applying a light vignette in the four corners-with a slightly stronger effect on the right-to draw additional attention to both subjects. Overall, it's a beautiful portrayal of everyday life.   Posted: 03/13/2025 21:26:33
Sylvia, Even without a title, the viewer knows exactly what it's about. I think that's good and means you've captured the scene perfectly.
I like the two men, the different postures, clothes, looks and gaze make the image interesting. I wondered whether the man on the bike really wants to take the bus or is he just taking a break?
Not really important, but this makes an image more than just a pure depiction of what is happening.
The framing by the bus stop brings the two of them into focus, but there is still space on the left. Great!
As Linda has already written, I would also lighten the faces of the two men to see their expressions more clearly.
It was worth getting up and taking this photo although you were ill.   Posted: 03/14/2025 07:13:14

Sylvia, Waiting for the bus...or are they? Bus stops are notorious for hiding activity. I like the look you captured of the two individuals. Looks like you disturbed them. I would only suggest to lighten their faces to highlight expressions. Great shot.

Sylvia, you captured your intended theme, transportation, with this image. I like that you got the entire bus shelter in the image and with the two people in it, they add to the photo. I agree that brightening their faces a little bit would help the image.   Posted: 03/18/2025 15:52:30
