About the Image(s)
I was out and about early with my daughter last month and we found this owl. The first time we spotted him flying onto a tree branch he was camouflaged well. The then moved out so we could get a better shot.

Sylvia, Great owl shot! He's striking quite the pose and attitude with his wrapped wings . Even though his feathers are the same colors of the tree you captured sharp details in the feathers. The spots of yellow on the tree and beak complement the composition. My only suggestion would be to crop a little more on the right. Great shot.   Posted: 02/12/2025 15:10:32
What a great thing to see while out and about. And, you captured him looking straight at you. Timing is everything, sometimes. I think you got a great photo, Sylvia.   Posted: 02/14/2025 02:10:33
Sylvia, Your owl portrait is really great.
I like the way the owl is looking at the photographer. It is sitting on the branch, in its pose ready to be portrayed.
The important sparkle in its eyes is there, the feathers are sharp and the background suggests that it is in its natural environment. The blue of the sky enlivens the image, but does not disturb it. Great shot!   Posted: 02/14/2025 12:24:08

This is a very nice image of an owl (something I've never been able to see during my walks). The colors and pattern of its feathers are really very nice, and its perch on the tree branch are perfect. The catch light in its eyes are a bonus. I agree with Yvonne recommendation to crop. Very nice image Sylvia.   Posted: 02/17/2025 14:55:53
Sylvia, this is such an amazing image of the owl-it's beautifully displayed! I love how well the owl stands out against the background. While I do like the blurred background, I think making the image a vertical shot rather than a square could help the owl stand out even more. It's impressive how you were able to capture such a stunning moment, especially after spotting the owl camouflaged in the tree. What a great find!   Posted: 02/18/2025 10:53:59
