About the Image(s)
Amid the festive chaos of the holiday season, I stumbled upon a party store adorned with vibrant, colorful ribbons that seemed to shimmer with energy. With my Nikon camera in hand, I felt compelled to capture the moment in a unique way. By rotating the camera 180? mid-shot, I turned the ordinary into an abstract symphony of spinning colors and dynamic lines. The result was Kaleidoscopic Dance, a vibrant celebration of motion and light born from a simple, spontaneous experiment.

Vibrant and fun! Good times! I am impressed that you could rotate your camera fast enough. Very cool   Posted: 02/07/2025 17:13:55

What a creative idea you had here. I like the vivid colors and the circular motion. You captured the ribbons well in a way I would likely never consider. Good job.   Posted: 02/09/2025 01:32:43

Linda, Is this similar to Sabine's painterly technique? Very creative. You're inspiring me to experiment.   Posted: 02/12/2025 14:41:02

Linda, How beautiful! Color in a rather dark season, at least in Germany. All the colors are bright and the circular movement makes me feel as a viewer in a vortex that leads to the center.
I would have liked to have had a monochrome area at the edge for my eyes to rest on. But that's just my opinion.
What camera settings did you use and was there any post-processing?
As I've discovered painterly photography for myself at the moment, I'm interested in it.

Sabine, thank you so much for your kind words! I'm glad the vibrant colors stood out to you. I didn't do any extensive post-processing, but I did adjust the colors and hues a bit to enhance the vibrancy. I typically use aperture priority for this type of shot, as it gives me good control over depth of field, especially with movement. I also did a camera rotation mid-shot to get the abstract effect.   Posted: 02/18/2025 11:29:53
Linda, you created a fun and inspirational image to view. I like how the colors intertwine with each other and form a spiral shape that lead me down into the center of the image. The colors are bright and bold which makes this image even more appealing. I tried this type of shot years ago with flowers using slide film, but I used a tripod to steady the camera, so I'm impressed you managed this nice shot hand held. Nice job!
