About the Image(s)
While heading back from Costco, I took a detour to dodge traffic and discovered Bartel
Grassland bordering the road. The lines horizontal lines caught my eye. I bought out
colors in photoshop. The day was pretty overcast.

Yvonne, I like your landscape picture because it shows the vegetation in stripes of different widths. You can guess what they represent. Overall, the calmness of the image appeals to me, as do the colors.
I chose a panoramic format to enhance the effect of the image.
Panorama photos invite the eye to wander.
I have mirrored your image so that the view goes from left to right and back again.
I'm curious to see if you like my cropping. Anyway, this is just a suggestion.

Sabine. Love the cropping. It shows more of the sky detail . The trees on the left is throwing me. But it does force your eyes to move through the image. Thank you.   Posted: 01/15/2025 17:44:52

First of all, I thought that you lived in Chicago so it surprises me that you get a great view like this on your way home from Costco!
This is a great photo!
I too love the horizontal lines and wondered if a bit a of crop would emphasize them more. I thought the horizon line looked a bit off to me so I straightened it a bit and added a vignette. Just a different take.

I like your more intense colors. The sky now stands out against the landscape.   Posted: 01/13/2025 14:40:22

Sylvia, LOL... this is a Chicago suburb. Never know what you may find. I do like the vignette and crop! I'm going to try my hand at making this into a note card. Thank you.   Posted: 01/15/2025 17:49:17

Yvonne, I like your landscape image. The multiple horizontal stripes of grassland, the trees and the various colors you processed from your original image project a calmness that I like. The grouping of vertical trees of the same size and shape I think are the best part of this image.
The horizon line seems just a tad bit off and the sky seems a bit too wide. But I think that Sabine's adjustments are done well and viewing the image from left to right into your tree groupings makes this image even more appealing.
This is a very nice landscape.

Yvonne, I like this photo with the various lines that create layers. Looks like a peaceful place to photograph. With scenes like this, I would take detours more often. The clouds add drama to the image. I like the editing suggested by Sylvia, it really boosts the colors and contrast. The cropping also helps make the photo more balanced. Keep going back to this place.   Posted: 01/20/2025 02:41:27

Yvonne, I really admire your keen observation in capturing this scene. The horizontal lines of the Bartel Grassland create such a strong, grounding effect, and the way you've brought out the colors in Photoshop adds a beautiful vibrancy to the overcast day. I feel that cropping a bit of the sky at the top could make the image even more dramatic, drawing the viewer's focus even further into the landscape. It's a wonderful shot with a great sense of depth and balance. Great work!   Posted: 01/20/2025 15:56:22
