Jim, A wonderful photo. The crop is perfect, the focus in the foreground and the blur in the background are just right, the flying bee has motion blur, I can hear it buzzing.
I wouldn't know what could be improved. Well done!   Posted: 01/13/2025 13:57:04

This is a gorgeous snap! Very sharp, great bokeh. I love that you also have one bee in flight. I was looking at your settings, I almost never go to to ISO 1000, but I think I will have to try that to get a faster speed. great job!   Posted: 01/13/2025 14:04:11

Thank you Sylvia. After some time trying to get sharper images I gave in and started using higher ISO settings which always results in grainer images. But I use Topaz Denoise (reduces grain) and Sharpen, both of which I used in this image. I'm sure there are other similar products but at this point in time, very pleased with Topaz. Now I never hesitate to use a higher ISO with the post processing software now available to address these issues, even as heigh as 3500 ISO with birds in flight.   Posted: 01/13/2025 14:33:51

Jim, this is a nice photo. I like the capture of the bees on and above the flower. You cropped the image very well to remove distracting elements. It amazing that the high shutter speed you used did not fully stop the motion of the bee's wings. Great shot!   Posted: 01/14/2025 01:17:16

Jim, Blossom with Bee can be categorized as nature or photojournalism. The two bees are certainly telling a story. Good choice in blurring the background. Great shot!   Posted: 01/15/2025 17:02:50

I always thought of my photos as being one dimensional, either landscapes, macro or nature. Your comment suggesting both categories will now open my eyes to consider additional options for the same image. Thank you for that Yvonne.   Posted: 01/17/2025 15:00:43

Great image to have both bees so sharp and with the one in flight toward the flower. It also tells a great story.   Posted: 01/19/2025 18:15:50
