I visited Petrified Forest NP on a cross-country road trip in 1985, and was struck by the surreal landscape. Great texture in this image, and the path invites the viewer to follow the hikers along the path and around the bend. I'd have chosen to bump up the warmth just a bit, as the bright desert sun does tend to wash out the colors recorded by the camera.   Posted: 08/21/2026 04:39:02

I like the soft colors, the textures, and the composition of this photo. It looks like an amazing place to visit. I like having people in the photo to give some scale to the mountains. The woman's white shirt is a bit distracting so I would darken it a bit.
