About the Image(s)
The photo was taken in Purulia, West Bengal, India. It was a rainy day. I was enjoying the rain near a lake. There were two teenage boys who were enjoying the rain. They used a leaf as an umbrella. They were laughing. Their joyful mood attracted me and I took the snap of a boy.
I had taken the photo with my Nikon D 850 camera. Stutter speed was 1/160 seconds, f/8 and ISO was 800. The lens used was Nikon 24-70 mm /2.8 and the focal length was 50 mm.

Well, once again you nailed the shot. F/8 worked great! Everything important is in focus, and everything else is nicely blurred. For me, the rain drops on his face and chest really draw me into the context. Two things distract me just a bit. One is the blur above the boy's left hand -- it doesn't seem to fit in with the surrounding background, creating a break in the texture and color that draws my attention. The other is the sharpness along the outside of his arms -- that creates a bit of a cut-out feel for me. But none of that really matters when you achieve such strong connection with your subject. We can tell the boy is happy to be in front of your lens!   Posted: 07/13/2025 01:17:29
What an awesome moment that you captured! Everything in your description shows in the photo. The focus, expression, everything works. I might try lightening his face just a touch. Well done !   Posted: 07/13/2025 22:56:37

Beautiful subdued tones and you have captured a great expression. I do wonder about the blurred patch above the boy's left hand - it does detract - whatever it is I would clone it out.   Posted: 07/28/2025 18:54:44
