About the Image(s)
Yes, another bird. I'm not known as a bird photographer, but lately I seem to be getting myself in front of birds a lot. I very much like including the environment when I photograph birds, but last month I got consistent feedback that the environment was distracting, or not enough. There was a lot of front blur in that shot, and again in this shot. I love it, but not everyone does. I'm curious what you all think of how the environment helps or hinders this shot of a burrowing owl.

"I'm not known as a bird photographer": You are trying to be humble. This is an excellent photo. With the sun on one of the eyes, beautifully blurred environment, it seems that the owl is playing hide and seek. You used the environment very well in this photo. I can see the texture of the bird's feathers. Wonderful Photo.   Posted: 02/17/2025 15:03:07
I love it!!! The way the owl is staring straight into the camera, with just its head standing out from the diffuse background, locks in the viewer's attention.   Posted: 02/21/2025 10:32:18
